Dear Tommy,

You may remember that at approximately 4:00 pm on May 16, a distraught woman barged into your restaurant and begged for your help.  It was the middle of my grandson’s first birthday party, and my daughter had expected me to bring lasagna for her 50 guests.  However, due to poor communication, I had not made any lasagna for her.  My daughter had, of course, planned her meal around the lasagna, and was in quite a jam.  (And if you think I was upset when I arrived at your restaurant, you should have seen her!)

Well, somehow, by 4:30 pm, you had 4 trays of pasta, including lasagna, prepared and ready to go for me.  Not only that, but you were kind enough to buy my sister and I a drink while we waited.  I was amazed, impressed, and extremely relieved by your considerate (and efficient) actions….especially when I heard that you had JUST finished serving a party of 100 people!

I was reminded of why I have been patronizing your restaurant for the past 30 years.  The food is fantastic, service is beyond reproach, and the prices are very reasonable.  But Piccolo’s is even more than that.  Through your hard work and integrity, you have made it into a neighborhood landmark.  Bellmore is fortunate to claim both you and your restaurant as its own.

Please thank your staff who handled my dilemma with such professionalism and kindness.  The food was delicious, but then, I knew it would be!

In closing let me just say that, yes Tommy…….You ARE my hero!
